Harriers take on Southend tomorrow and will be looking for another win to lift them clear of trouble. Last weeks scorer Bishop has departed and no new frontman has signed yet.

SHRIMPERS NEXT (& LATEST NEWS)
Harriers will be looking to build on last weeks win over Carlisle as they take on another team at the wrong end of the table in Southend United. This week has seen a few more departures from Aggborough and no real new faces.
The week started with the news that Lloyd Dyer had opted for a return to West Brom, instead of another month on loan with Kidder. To be fair Dyer had a reasonable month with us and I was sorry to see him go. He was out of the starting 11 at the end but his pace was a useful asset. Of course he was being watched by Rotherham and perhaps they might make a move for him, I cant see him getting in Albion’s team at present. Dyers departure will surely give Shilton the opportunity to impress in the wing back spot.
So one member of the squad down and then there was the question about Andy Bishop, whose loan was also about to expire. In the end Britt decided to let Bish return to Walsall. Bish didn’t really do himself justice in this loan spell and only netted twice in 11 games, his second goal proving to be the winner last week of course. I think really Bish is better alongside a big man, as is Bo but him and Bo together don’t seem to work.
So that was 2 players down and the rumour mill was that Britt was trying to bring someone in for tomorrow. So all day today I’ve been waiting, checking the official site, teletext etc waiting for another traditional Friday signing. Britt was reported to be in talks with a couple of players. In the end we have no new striker for tomorrow and Britt has recalled Matt Lewis back from Hinkley, where he was on loan. The word is that he couldn’t get anyone in for tomorrow.
So it looks like Bo and big John up front for tomorrows game against Southend. Of course this game sees the return of Drewe Broughton. Some fans may see Drewe’s departure as a mistake by Britton and tomorrow is a prefect opportunity for Drewe to prove Britt wrong. Personally I did like Drewe for his effort but his goalscoring and discipline let him down. Given his supposed salary I can understand Britt’s decision. But I did expect Britt to replace him, to date he hasn’t and he needs to quickly.
Last week every one was on a high with the return of JJ Melligan. We knew he could help, but we still needed another front man. We are still waiting. Of course negotiations can take some time and we know Britt is working to get that elusive striker in. Some fans have been calling for Matt Lewis to be given a chance, lets see what he can do, the jury is still out on him. Hopefully we can get something tomorrow and then get one or two new players in ready for Swansea next week. We may just get away with it tomorrow but I doubt we could at Swansea.
JUMPJET NEWS
The Poll, last time I looked, didn’t look as if everyone was behind Britt. I will leave it open until after Saturday’s game for your votes.
Prediction League
I’ve put us down for a win tomorrow, but that was because I was expecting a signing. I’m not sure now (I never am in any case), what do you think ? Plus put your predictions for the England v Turkey game as well.
