Harriers slumped back into the bottom two with a dismal defeat to fellow strugglers Southend Utd. The heat is now really on for Kidder manager Ian Britton to improve things quickly as the fans start to turn against him.

HARRIERS 1 SOUTHEND 2 a brief report
So the apparent doom and gloom, which had slightly lifted after last weeks game against Carlisle is back. To be honest it was one of worst displays that I’ve witnessed in many years.
I will keep to a brief report, as this report is quite late and you’ve probably read the report from other sources.
Britt did give Matt Lewis his chance, but unfortunately the youngster didn’t really take it, or to be fair wasn’t given much of a chance to take it. we desperately need a big man up front, we cannot get away with it. Bish, Bo and Lewis cannot play that role and quite simply it wont work without one.
Southend didn’t look that impressive but did take the lead with a quality free kick just before half time. The game after that was hugely forgettable and I did feel that defeat was certain. We huffed and puffed but didn’t look like creating anything let alone score. Bo was subbed at half time and then Lewis was replaced by big John Williams. Why Britt didn’t give Lewis a chance to play alongside Williams is a mystery to me.
So it was with some surprise when we equalised through JJ late on. A good cross by Shilton wasn’t dealt with and JJ fired home from an angle at the second attempt. We then obviously perked up a bit and could have won it. another chance for Danny Williams to fire in one of his blockbuster free kicks saw their keepr make a fine save. So at this point it looked like we had stolen a point. Spoke to soon though as Bramble grabbed an injury time goal, which was the last kick of the game and the winner.
There was a few dissenting voices heard at Aggboro yesterday, and many are calling for Ian Britton’s head. Im still not 100% sure. Before the Carlisle game I wanted 4 points out of 6, that would be good enough for me for Britt to stay. If we lost both, then I thought he would be on his way. Well we’ve got 3 instead of 4 and now travel to high flying Swansea for our next league game. Will Britt stay ? I don’t know to be honest and will give more of my views in forthcoming articles.
