Jan Molby makes his second Harriers managerial debut at Northampton. A very shocking and exciting weekend at Aggborough, which could have Soap Opera links

Jan’s back

you couldn’t make it up if you tried, a very dramatic weekend for Kidderminster Harriers, as Ian Britton left and Jan “The Man” Molby returned to the Aggborough hotseat. Pure soap opera, just like Eastenders, which makes me think. Sure Jan wasn’t pushed in a canal and it’s only been 15 months but dramatic none the less. This at a club where “Colin” and “Barry” are in the boardroom and the recently departed captain, Sean Flynn bared an uncanny resemblance to Billy Mitchell. To be honest I’m still recovering from the shock of it all.

so the big question, will it work ? Well lets hope so. Some are a little wary, some are outright against him but I believe they are in the minority. After all, some fans don’t come because Graham Allner has left. Personally speaking I’d like to welcome him back. Yes I’m as fickle as they come. Sure, like many I was hurt by his departure. My main gripe was that he didn’t really better himself when he left. Yes, he took a forward step, Hull are a much bigger club than us, but they are still in the same division. If he had have made the step up to a higher league, then I’d have been chuffed, in the same way as I, like most of you, are chuffed with the progress of Lee Hughes and Paul Jones, to name but two. Still its water under the bridge now. Jan’s back and that’s it. welcome back and lets carry on where we left off.

So what an exciting time it is really. Jan and his assistant, Gary Barnett are back and we hope they can turn it around. The board did say that Jan did know the club and most of the players, which is true really. If we had brought in someone completely new, it would have taken them some time to get used to the club and players. Jan and Gary do know a lot of them and lets hope they can get us back on track. I think a small club like ours does benefit from Jan’s profile, just think back how many times he was on TV, and not just with Harriers. We are a small club, and any attention is always welcome. So finally, from me, all is forgiven, and we hit the ground running tomorrow at Northampton.

Cobblers next

So its Kidder’s first ever game against the Cobblers of Northampton a team who we should have replaced in the League in 1994. Harriers are expected to be without Bo Henriksen and Scott Stamps, who are both out injured. Bo’s injury means we only have 2 recognised strikers at the club in John Williams and Matt Lewis. I’m sure Jan will be looking to add to our forward line as a point of urgency. I hope with the optimism a new man in charge can bring we can get something out of tomorrows game. A win may be a little overreaching, considering we have’nt got much of a goal threat, I’d take a draw, make your predictions on the prediction league, where I’ve gone for the draw, and 50p in my Kiddy Kitty (see link below).
