JJ departs(news update)

Main news for Harriers is that on loan midfielder, JJ Melligan has returned to Wolves. After his Aggborough debut, maybe Gazza fancies a few games for Kidder? We can but dream!!!!!!

JJ DEPARTS
Harriers today confirmed that midfielder and Harriers fans favourite JJ Melligan has returned to Wolves after his loan spell of a month. It does come as a bit of a surprise really, after all JJ was superb last season. In this month he has done ok without reaching the heights of last season. Word in the papers is that Jan feels the team needs strengthening in other areas. Can we just say thanks to JJ for his efforts and good luck.
On the subject of Wolves, their reserves, accompanied by Paul Gascoigne went down 2-1 to the Baggies reserves last night. A crowd in excess of 3700 turned out, mostly to see “Gazza” who did ok without really impressing. A good night for Harriers and the town as one of footballs most famous sons made an appearance, some Harriers fans hope that he could join us for a while, well there no harm in dreaming. Well done Gazza, and good luck mate.
One final piece of club news, striker John Williams has decided to extend his stay, on a non contract basis. It may appear that I have been critical of the big man this season. Its not that really, we just need more strikers, as well as John. If he can repeat Saturday’s heroics again then any potential new strikers may have to warm the bench a bit. Well done big man, and as I did say before, nice to see a reasonably local lad play for Harriers.

Our poll came out in favour of Jan, I have got the figures somewhere and will add them in later. Other Kidder sites polls seem to back the big man as well. You may notice in our 2003/4 stats (see side menu), we now include the attendance for Harriers fans only, ie at home we deduct the away support and away we only include the travelling fans. Our biggest home gate for Kidder fans, was the Donny defeat, not only the best overall gate but over 2400 home fans. More updates later in the week as we look forward to the FA Cup game against Northwich.
