Today saw Kidderminster Harriers release nine of the fifteen out of contract players. Most of the departures were expected but a few may raise a few eyebrows. Plus 2 players sign new deals

Its all change at Aggborough next season, when today it was annouced on thehttp://www.harriers.co.uk that Harriers boss Jan Molby was releasing nine out of contract players.

Heading for the exit were 2 of Kidders longest servers, in Stuart Brock and Scott Stamps. Both had recently lost their places to John Danby and Steve Burton, and many expected their departures. Both served Harriers well, with Brock joining in 1997 and Stampsie in 99.

Also leaving are the ex Wolves duo of Graham Ward and Kenny Coleman along with Adam Willis. Willis and Coleman have missed most of the campaign with injury but Ward was tipped to be awarded a new deal. All three were signed by former boss Ian Britton. Another "Britt " man, who is to depart is Matt Gadsby, who has spent a year at Aggboro. Gadsby played in many roles and it was difficult for him to impress playing in so many positions.

The remaining departees are all what you would call Harriers most experienced players in John Williams, Sean Parrish and Mark Yates. Big John will always be remembered for his goal against the Wolves but unfortuntely, it was one of only five goals all season. Of course, the big man played out the entire season on non contract forms and maybe he deserves a big more security elsewhere as he approches his 36th birthday. Mark Yates was only on a short contract after the former Kidder skipper returned to the club in February. His return turned a few heads but he certainly played his part in maintaning our league status and I'm surprised he wasnt offered anything. The final player leaving is the popular Parrish, who joined Kidder on a 2 year deal from Chesterfield and was Ian Brittons 1st capture. Paz has impressed many with his battling displays, spectacular goals, even more spectacular celebrations and is ence of humour. Another player who many wouldnt mind seeing more of really.

So let me wish them all the best and thank the above for all their efforts for Kidder. Only when we see who the new players are that come in, will we be able to judge what went on today. Not a nice business, but part of the game, even more so now with the lower leagues lack of cash.

I would imagine that the remaining six out of contract players, Abdou Sall, Chris Mc Hale, Dean Bennett, Craig Hinton, Steve Burton and John Danby have all been offered something.

Both Abdou Sall and Chris Mc Hale have signed new deals to remain at Aggboro. Sall signs for 1 year, with youngster McHale, who made his debut against Boston, signs for 2 years.
