Kidderminster Harriers suffered a bad start to their pre season with defeats against non league opposition. The Aggboro mood has been lightened with 4 arrivals, 3 permamnent with obviously more in soon (we hope)

2 defeats

Harriers travelled twice to Gloucestershire last week to face non league opponents and ended up tasting defeat twice. Harriers started with a 2-1 defeat against Cinderford, with many trialists getting their chance. One of them, Jamie Gleeson ended up scoring Kidders goal. Following this, Kidder moved up the A40 to take on Gloucester City and again ended up losing by the odd goal in three. Another trialist based team lost to the Tigers with Dioup on the scoresheet. Not the best of starts but Jan has moved up a gear and now we have around 15 players at last, with surely more to come.

Signings

Probably the most exciting and popular arrival is the return of WBA's Simon Brown on loan, initially for a month, although everyone is hoping for a longer stint. Brown enjoyed a very succesful loan spell at the end of last season with the drawback being higher grade clubs could also be interested. Also returning, for his 3rd spell, is Ian Foster. Fozzie was our top scorer in our promotion season but struggled with form and injuries and former boss Ian Britton released him in summer 2003. Fozzie returned for a spell on loan, from Chester last season and now links up for the 3rd time. The 2 new boys (really new!) are trialists, Jamie Gleeson (ex Southampton) and Simon Russell (ex Hull City).

A few still remain on trial, with another former Kidderman, Richie Appleby being the most notable on trial. The express and star say that former Albion man Micky Mellon remains a target whilst former Blues and Walsall midfielder Danny Sonner is now training with Kidder. Sonner, a current Northern Ireland international is linked with a move to a German 2nd division club.

Harrier play their 1st home friendly against Bristol City tomorrow. Kick off at 7.45pm
