BLACKBURN ROVERS have warned Tottenham Hotspur against making an approach for their manager Graeme Souness after they sacked Glenn Hoddle.
The White Hart Lane club are looking for a new manager following the sacking of Glenn Hoddle recently and see Souness as the ideal man to take over the reigns.
Souness has done an excellent job at Blackburn, guiding the club to sixth place in the Premiership after taking charge of the Ewood Park outfit in March 2000.
Blackburn Rovers chief executive John Williams has said that they are keen to keep hold of the Scot and an approach fro, the North London club would not be welcome.
"It seems the re-kindling of an old story and I can only reiterate that we have had no approach from Spurs, nor would we welcome one," reiterated Williams to Rovers' official website.
"Quite the contrary, we would rebuff any approach. We want Graeme to remain here at Rovers.
"He continues to do a great job for us and is only just over one year into a new four-year contract.
"When the Spurs issue was raised on the eve of our trip to Turkey, Graeme dismissed the speculation and at no point has he intimated that he is anything but perfectly happy here at Ewood Park."
Tottenham Hotspur currently have David Pleat as caretaker manager.
