To Ell And Back But Reid Stays

PETER REID will stay on as manager of Leeds United for the immediate future despite speculation on Wednesday that he may be axed following Leeds' poor start to the campaign.
Reid has been in charge of the Elland Road club since March 2003 and managed to steer the club away from relegation last season. But a poor start to the current campaign made the board consider a change of direction.
However, it appears Reid has persuaded the board that continuity is needed to turn the fortunes of the ailing club around. It is believed that he has been given at least until after the home game against Blackburn Rovers.
"Well obviously we were concerned by our position in the league table," Chairman Professor John McKenzie told Sky Sports News. "We needed to talk to Peter and other people. We wanted to check out all the views and having done that we came to the conclusion that Peter Reid should stay on as manager.
"I woke him up this morning at 8.30 and asked him why he was not at work. But he is now up and at it, doing his work at the training ground.
"There are no timescales on this, but my position is that I want Peter to help lead the team up the table.
"Over the last year or so, everyone could see that the players have been inconsistent, at times they have been outstanding but also awful.
