FOLLOWING this week's sacking of Alan Buckley, Rochdale AFC have acted quickly in naming their new manager as former Mansfield and Barnsley boss Steve Parkin.

Former Grimsby Town boss Alan Buckley had his contract terminated at Rochdale by mutual consent, only six months into his employment, after a disasterous first half of the season.

The Rochdale moved have moved quickly to sign Parkin, who was the assistant manager at Notts County, to save the Dale's Football League status.

Parkin will manage the team until the end of the season.
