Torquay break Football League Rules

South Devon club Torquay United have broken the Football Leagues newly imposed wage cap and are currently hoping that they won't be to harsh with their punishment.
Torquay United chairman Mike Bateson says that this week's signing of left-back Brian McGlinchey has pushed the Gulls' wage-bill through the Football League's experimental wage-cap barrier for the season.
"I think that's our £33,000 gone," said
Bateson, as McGlinchey prepared to step back into ninth-placed United's line-up
at Lincoln City (6th) this afternoon.
"We've been pushing the wage-cap all season, but we're definitely over our
limit now."
They are no worrying now over what punishment the
Football League will be handing out to clubs who break this limit.
