Manchester United super-manager Alex Ferguson has now been waiting eight months for an improved contract offer- and still hasn't signed and extension on his current deal.

This has not been helped by the fact he is currently particpating in a legal fraud with major club shareholder (25.5%) John Magnier.

"I understand the fans are concerned, and quite rightly," said Ferguson.

The publicity over the matter does us no good," admitted Ferguson.

"There are a couple of little things on the contract that we went through on Thursday and Friday.

"We'd like to put the situation to bed and sign the contract straight away.

"That's my perspective and the club's perspective."
