Newcastle veteran Alan Shearer has hailed Michael Owen, Liverpool's 24 year-old center forward, as the best in his position in England.
Alan Shearer has been signing Liverpool and England forwqard Michael Owen's praises saying he's the best forward in English football and saying that he's always trouble for Newcastle.
"He's a great player," insists
the Newcastle veteran forward when talking to the LFC Official site "He's
the best forward in English football and he'll always score goals, whatever team
he's playing in - but not tomorrow, I hope! He knows how much I admire him, and
people know how much I admire him. From the clips I saw, he looked sharp on
Wednesday night. Obviously, he didn't get on the scoresheet, whether that was
poor finishing or good goalkeeping, I don't know, but the more games he plays
the better he'll become.
"It's nigh on impossible to come straight back into the groove and do
things when you've been out as long as he has, but I think he's had one full
game and one 80 minutes last week, so he'll be getting there - and he has been a
pain in the neck for us at times."
