Player Of The Year 2004 Award!

The votes have finally been counted and verified and it is time to reveal the Blue Noses Online.com's Player Of The Year for 2004...
After three weeks of voting the poll has finally closed on who is the Bluenoses Online.com's Player of the Year winner for 2004.
2004 was a memorable year for blues with the conclusion to their second Premiership season. A 10th place finish was a great finish to a great season although it could have been higher had blues not slipped away during the early part of 2004.
The new season started how the last left off with blues struggling for form. But late in December 2004 one of the performances of the season meant blues came away from Villa Park with all three points and the season was back on again.
But the real question was which player has impressed you, the fans, the most during 2004. The usual suspects were there for all to choose from. Would it be Robbie Savage, Kenny Cunningham, Matty Upson, top goalscorer Mikael Forssell or maybe a suprise victor.
Well the votes have been counted and we can exclusively reveal that the first ever Bluenoses Online.com Player of the Season award for 2004 goes to:
Matthew Upson
Matthew Upson was the rock in the blues defence during 2004. He partnered Republic of Ireland captain Kenny Cunningham in the center of the defence to form one of the most formiddable defensive units in the Premier League. Upson won the poll with 30% of the 133 votes going to the England international.
Robbie Savage came second in the poll with 16% after his gutsy performances throughout 2004 and the Welshman may well have came away the winner had it not been for his antics of the pitch towards the end of 2004.
In third place with 13% was top goalscorer for the 2003/2004 season Mikael Forssell. Although only a loan signing from Chelsea, Forssell became a firm blues favourite as his 19 goals lifted Birmingham to there best ever Premiership finish of 10th place.
