Blues make there second loan signing of the week with Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant agreeing to move to Birmingham City on loan until the end of the season following his inabillity to break into the first team at Highbury.

Arsenal and England Under-21 winger Jermaine Pennant has signed for blues on a 5 month loan deal. Pennant will move to St Andrews until the end of the season.

The England Under-21 international became the most expensive teenager in England when he was signed by Arsenal from Notts County but has failed to break into the Arsenal first team. Even with injuries to first team players Pennant has featured just 14 times this season for the Champions.

Blues moved for Pennant just days after completing a similar deal that brought Liverpool's Salif Diau to the club.

Pennant though faces a police trial in February following his second drink driving offence. Pennant was arrested yesterday driving a Mercedes, believed to be Ashley Cole's, around London whilst over the limit. To add to this Pennant also had no license or insurance as he is currently serving a driving ban following previous incidents.

Pennant therefore could be jailed. Hopefully though he will get away with a fine as he is certainly an exiting winger with bags of talent and skill. Definately the type of player blues need following the sale of Jesper Gronkjaer.

Jermaine is likely to start his first game for his new club against Southampton a week on Tuesday as he is cup tied for the weekends FA Cup game against Chelsea.
