Steve Bruces second summer signing could be announced on Monday as it is expected that Neill Danns will take and pass a medical on Sunday and should be announced in a press conference, while Steve Bruce insist`s he has to sell no one.
Neil Danns is set to take a medical despite the clubs yet agreeing a fee, it is expected that a bid of £600,000 would be good enough for Colchester to allow Neil to move on although he was the highest scoring midfielder in League 1 last season , If the clubs failed to agree a fee it would come down to a tribunal who are unlikely to set the fee higher than £600,000 for the 23 year-old free scoring midfielder, Danns is expected to take a medical tomorrow (Sunday) and be announced to the press on Monday.
Meanwhile Steve Bruce has insisted he does not have to sell any of his players although several are said to be "Unhappy" at having to play there trade in the Championship next season.
"We do not have to sell. We might get bids for Emile, Mikael Forssell, Jermaine Pennant - anyone - but we do not have to get rid of them,"
"One thing that was made clear when I had talks with the board was that after certain players were let go and others' contracts were not renewed, the rest could be kept.
"We do not have to fund Cameron's signing by selling another player.
"Now I keep seeing and reading about Emile going for £2 million and what have you, but it's absolute rubbish."
"If we get what we consider to be the right offer for any of our players then those offers will be considered carefully," Bruce added.
"Ideally, we don't want to let anyone go and certainly not on the cheap.
"If offers don't match our valuation, then fine. The players concerned will be told that, as they contributed to us being in the situation we find ourselves in, they've got to make sure they help get us back out of it."
