The Manchester 7s is returning for its 6th year on the 16-18 May 2014. After the success of the 2013 Festival, which attracted 165 UK and overseas teams, the organisers are confident that the 2014 festival is set to be the largest in the event’s history.

The Manchester 7s have launched a new logo and website, which boast a modern and fresh feel to coincide with a new exciting era for the festival. The organisers are constantly striving to improve the Manchester 7s, this year they are enhancing the festival experience by introducing new sports and a number of new areas to the festival site. In addition to the Men’s, Ladies & Boys Rugby 7s tournaments, 2014 will see new sports such as Beach Rugby, Aussie Rules, Dodgeball, Netball and Volleyball competing over the same weekend. Tournament entry starts at just £15 per player for the whole weekend. Please note, the majority of the rugby tournaments sold out last year so get your team entry in early.
Have your flip-flops and bikinis at the ready, as this year’s fancy dress theme is Beach Party! Every beach party calls for cocktails so make sure you head along to the Manchester 7s very own handmade Cabana Beach Bar to try one of their exclusive festival cocktails. Be sure to reserve your pitch side deck chair!
The new Pimms O’clock area is sure to be a big hit at the festival. With the sun on your face, jug of Pimms in your hand, DJs spinning tunes and great views of the sports pitches, this is the place to hang out during the day, preparing yourself for the night ahead!
Expect to find the champagne flowing in the Hospitality Marquee, the ideal place for those looking to entertain and relax. This is the Manchester 7s hotspot for meeting famous faces. Last year British Lions star Ben Youngs was on hand to sign autographs and meet rugby fans.
Foodies, you are in for a treat as you can expect flavours from around the world served by a variety of independent food traders. Expect tasty paellas, succulent hog roasts, spicy curries and juicy burgers!
Manchester 7s friends Red Bull are back for a 6th year and will be on hand with energy drinks & shots, exercise bikes and physiotherapists to keep competitors in top shape in the Red Bull Wigwam.
A popular addition to last year’s festival was the Big TV Screen. This year the festival will once again be showing live major sporting events over the weekend, including the FA Cup final and the 2 Aviva Premiership rugby semi-finals.
Once the trophies have been handed out and the boots are off head over to the notorious Festival Marquee.
