This season will see major changes to the way the risk of concussion is managed across the professional game in England. The Rugby Football Union, Premiership Rugby and the Rugby Players Association have worked together to focus specifically on concussion awareness and education, game day management and the graduated return to play for those players who have suffered a concussion. Nigel Jones has been appointed the new England Senior Men’s Team Doctor. Recently team doctor at Gloucester Rugby and Consultant in Sports Medicine at Aintree University Hospital in Merseyside, Dr Jones (right) is renewing a long-standing involvement with England Rugby. The RFU & Sky Sports have extended their partnership with a new five-year broadcast deal which will also see Sky Sports become a top level RFU partner, with a range of partnership rights for the first time. RFU & Sky Sports new partnership deal from 2015
The RFU has extended the contract of England Head Coach Stuart Lancaster until 2020. And in a ringing endorsement of Lancaster and his coaching team, Backs Coach Andy Farrell, Forwards Coach Graham Rowntree and Attacking Skills Coach Mike Catt have also been contracted to the end of the 2019-20 season as well.
Stuart Lancaster is spicing things up with three new caps for the QBE Internationals - and with one eye on the World Cup. Semesa Rokoduguni is grabbing the headlines but the inclusion of Callum Clarke and George Kruis will put pressure on places where it really matters ...
