RBS Six Nations 2015 Ireland v England Post Match Thoughts
First of all big congratulations to Ireland who were the better team on the day. As for England............Well now that the dust has settled and I am once again calm and in a better frame of mind to write this. England's lack of discipline on this day, did for them. It was a shocking display discipline, I can't remember so many penalties.
England took the exam and failed due to lack of discipline simple as that.
For the neutral out there and actually for myself it was a great game of rugby, tackles flying in from all over, lots of excitement and good rugby played by both teams, apart from the errors.
England once again started frankly uselessly, why on earth they kick so long from the kick off....... well who knows. To be honest the game of rugby nowadays both at International and Premiership level seems to be a lot of endless kicking. Most fans want to see the backs run with the ball, or the crunching of the forwards. To be fair we did have this on the day, but not enough from England.
So two matches to go, England are going to have to go some to win the Six Nations Championship this year, they have blown the Triple crown and the Grand Slam so we shall just have to see what these England men are made of, won't we? As an England fan you do get disappointed when you know the team can play much better than the performance they put in on Sunday.
BUT the unforgivable thing for me was the constant penalties. Come on Lancaster sort it out eh? It is not hard, penalise the culprits! |

Irelands players are really no different or better to last seasons or the year before that, they are simply well coached and their 10 man game wasn't really a surprise.
Seems to me that on-field we have a good skipper and the best man for the job however, he seems to learn only from his and his sides mistakes.
We were a factor within that Irish game plan and its success and we didn't help ourselves with some poor support play, ill discipline and juvenile kicking.
The Irish mid-field controlled the game with some great defence and an efficient kicking game but worst of all .......... the Irish 6, 7 and 8 bullied ours and it looked as if our 6, 7 and 8 went missing in action.
All now up to England and Burt ........... we need to muller the French and Scots and do against them what Wales and Ireland didn't or wont do.
I have nowt else to say on the matter ........
