England Counties Under 20s name Hungary tour squad

THE England Counties Under 20s selectors have named a 22-strong squad for the two-match tour of Hungary in June. The squad was chosen following a successful Divisional Festival held at the Welbeck Defence Sixth Form College in Leicestershire over the Easter weekend where 88 players, who had been selected after impressing for their Constituent Bodies in the two National Under 20 competitions, assembled.
The new England Counties Under 20s coaching team of head coach Richie Williams and assistant coach Paul Arnold, who acted as forwards coach to the England Counties senior side for their win over Scotland Club XV in February, also attended the three day festival. The squad, which includes two previous caps in Ben Penfold and Cameron Hudson, will travel to Hungary on June 8 for the first visit to that country by a national representative team from England. England Counties Under 20s will play matches against Hungarian Barbarians and Hungary Under 23s. The tour follows away and home fixtures against Georgia over the past two seasons and will underpin the work being done by East Midlands and Cambridge University as part of the Unity Project. The joint initiative between the RFU, World Rugby, FIRA-AER and UK Sport forms part of the legacy plans being implemented by the RFU and falls under the wider work of World Rugby’s Rugby World Cup 2015 rugby legacy programme, 'IMPACT beyond 2015.' Each of the 17 European countries involved in the Unity Project is twinned with two RFU Constituent Bodies, with non-geographical CBs lending support across the board. The European nations and their allocated CBs are working together to devise and deliver development plans to support the growth of the game.
