“We’re feeling very very excited about it. It’s been a long time coming, it’s always been at the back of the mind but suddenly it’s coming now.”

 

“The competition throughout the squad is strong, especially in my position at scrum-half. There’s Danny Care, a great guy and a fantastic player; there’s also Richard Wigglesworth who played a big part in the Six Nations. One thing you have to do in a team environment is obviously just focus on what you can bring to the team and work very hard at that.

“I don’t know what they particularly what they want from the nine in terms of what they’re looking at. You’re picked at what you do and how you perform at club level and it’s about taking that form from club, bringing it to the training camp and going from there.”

 

“What we’ve achieved not only as individuals but together has been very special for both of us. I don’t think we fully respect and understand when we’re growing old, we can reflect back and see what we’ve achieved together.

“To get into that 31 man squad for Rugby World Cup 2015 would be a massive goal and a massive step forward for us and our families.”
