Coppell urgent to bring someone in

Steve Coppell hopes to bring in another defender after John Mackie goes under the knief this afternoon. It is more likely to be a loan signing so it rules out a move for Danny Cullip at Brighton.

Steve Coppell is set to bring in another defender to add some much needed to depth. Coppell has spoken out about the problem that was left by Alan Pardew and hopes to do something about it before the home game against Walsall. This seems unlikely so it is more likely to be by Fridays crunch game against Sheffield United
