Zeljko Popovic joins Royals on trial

Reading have taken a 23 year old Montenegro defender called Zeljko Popovic on tial this week and he played in the reserves win yesterday against Rushden & Diamonds.

The player who is fairly unknown is thought to have been on the books at Besiktas but thats about it. Though he has supposedley thought to have a bright future in the game.

He played along side Ivar Ingimarsson in defence and Coppell was pleased with the player's showing. With John Mackie looking like joining Phil Parkinson at Colchester this week, Coppell may take tha gamble and give the player a short term deal like with Dean Morgan.
