Directions Exit the A1 at the Durham/Sunderland exit and take the A690 towards Sunderland. After about 8 miles, turn left onto the A19, signposted for the Tyne Tunnel. Stay in the left hand lane and take the Sunderland slip road onto the Bridge over the River Wear. Turn right onto A1231 following the signs of Washington/Sunderland. Go straight over 4 roundabouts into Sunderland. Then go through 2 sets of traffic lights and you will see the stadium car park on your right, about a mile after the traffic lights.
Drink Outside Wetherspoons pub in the centre of town. Idols as well on the High Street West.
Food outside There are plenty of burger vans outside which are very cheap and worth going to.
Drink inside In both the home and away ends.

The Experience
The stadium is simply amazing. It is totally enclosed and the leg room is simply amazing. There are 2 electronic score boards at either end. The atmosphere is simply amazing. The teams come out to the tune "Dance of the Knights" and then Republic's "Ready to go". The fans are so passionate. Truly is a great away day.
