EXCLUSIVE interview with Scott Murray!

1871royals.co.uk caught up with Scott Murray ahead of Reading's clash with Gillingham this weekend and asked him a few questions about his time at Reading so far and what the future holds for the Royals.

This week the team at 1871royals.co.uk popped down to Sonning lane to see how the Reading team was doing and managed to catch up with a few of the players to ask them a few questions.

1. A general assessment of the season so far?

“Average could be better. I have had a couple of injuries that have not helped but I feel I can play better.”

2. How is Steve Coppell different to Alan Pardew?

“Well the first clear thing that you can see is that he is much more quieter. But is just as good and training is just as enjoyable as it was with Alan Pardew.”

3. What was the mood at training Monday morning after the hammering at Rotherham a few weeks back?

“Well the players were happy…no only joking! No the mood was downcast after that defeat but we are just trying hard to rectify that for Saturday.”

4. Best moment at the club so far?

“Ummm, the Derby away game earlier in the season where I scored two goals.”

5. How would you react to the criticism Steve Coppell has received by the fans?

“Its all very harsh and unfair."

6. Do you believe Reading still has a chance of promotion this season?

“We still have a great chance. Were are not that far off the play-offs so if we can put a run together then we will be right in there.”

7. How would you say your season has gone so far compared with last season when you were with Bristol City?

“Yeah I am enjoying my time here, I’ve had a few injuries but to compare it to my last season at Bristol City is very hard because it was probably the best season of my career. Even if I was to score 25 goals this season for Reading it would still not be as good as the season I had last year.”

8. Did you have a goal target at the beginning of the season?

“Yes I did it was to reach double figures.”
