Forster suffers major injury setback!

Steve Coppell has been dealt a major blow with the news that star striker Nicky Forster requires more stomach surgery just a few weeks after returning.This is a major setback for Forster who will miss the rest of the season as the Royals look to win promotion to the Premiership.

Steve Coppell has been dealt a major blow with the news that Nicky Forster requires stomach surgery again, just weeks after returning to training. 

The former Birmingham City striker has been plagued by the injury since Christmas time and after resting a few weeks made 1 start at the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest. But Forster struggled after complaining of constant pain and then a decision was 6 weeks later to operate on the stomach.

After playing 2 games for the reserves in the past few weeks, Forster came on as a 2nd half substitute in the 2-1 defeat at Bradford City and did impress the travelling Royals fans. Manager Coppell then decided to start with Forster in the 1-0 defeat to Norwich City. He lasted the full 90 minutes.

But Coppell confirmed to Royals supporters this evening at the STAR Fans Forum that Forster required surgery again and could be missing for some time. No scale was given on his spell out but it could be around 3 months.
