Dean Morgan has agreed a new 2 year deal with the club which will keep him at the Madejski Stadium until the end of the 2005/2006 season.

The former Colchester United striker has made a good impression since his free transfer switch from Essex back in November. He has proved a hit with the Royals fans with his trickery and pace. He has scored 1 first team goal which came in the fantastic 3-2 win over Cardiff City at Ninian Park back in March.

Director of Football Nick Hammond said;

"Dean has accepted our offer and will sign for two further years."

Also agreeing terms with the club is young full back Louis Soares. He has impressed Manager Steve Coppell and this has been shown with Coppell giving him a new deal.

Director of Football Nick Hammond said;

"The deal for Louie is all agreed as well."

Another player who is likely to sign professional terms is young midfielder Simieon Howell. The England Youth midfielder has put in some impressive performances for the Royals reserve side this season. Nick Hammond said on Simieon;

"I just need one more meeting with Simieon Howell's agent but I don't foresee any problems."

Contract discussions with the remaining 3 out of contract players have already begun. These are local Goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown, versatile defender Ricky Newman and former Walton & Hermshaw striker Bas Savage.
