| The 1871Royals team plus a few extras took a day trip to the seaside town of Weymouth to see the sights.
The trip was arranged by STAR with the coach leaving the Madstad at 8:00 am. After just over two hours of travelling we arrived at our destination with the usual British weather, rain and wind. Though it did not put the team off as a game of beach football was arranged with a little dip in the sea.
The Team:
After having a look round the town only to see most of the shops closed because it was Sunday, we purchased a football and headed for the beech. Before showing off our footy skills we took a dip in the sea, and it was only quick! We then proceeded to a game of World Cup singles only to see Steve victorious after some suspect goalkeeping by Dave. By far the best highlight of the day, was the crazy golf, part of the team bonding ahead of the new football campaign which kicks off 7th August. We split into three teams, Matt and Steve, Dave and Mark, Ed and Becky. After starting off slowly the partnership of Matt and Steve was looking promising as you could see both players were veterans of the sport, with Grant claiming a hole in one on the 16th to all but confirm victory. The day was finished off with a few pints before getting back on the coach with Steve deciding to take a little memento home with him, his beer glass! After the close of the Division One season and the heartbreak in Portugal, the day trip was a big success and we were all looking forward to the new season with expectations high. See you in August 1871Royals Team
