There was a very mixed response to the 1871Royals poll the team set you a while back. 

The question you were posed with was:

How do you rate Steve Coppell's new summer signings so far?

As you can see in the above picture, fans had very mixed feelings on the managers summer recruits ahead of the new campaign which kicks off in just over a weeks time at home to Brighton.

Steve Coppell has currently made four new signings, although the latest, Bobby Convey joined just as the poll came to a close and so cannot be included in the poll results.

A worryingly amount of people (21%) of the voters believed that the new signings were very poor. Although on the bright side the largest volume of voters (31%) believed Coppell's signings are very good.

Of course the real test starts on Saturday 7th August when Reading start their new campaign at home to newly promoted Brighton & Hove Albion. Reading will be clear favourites to win and so there is a large amount of pressure on the managers and players shoulders to deliver the goods.

With the signings of three wingers and a defender the odds look more promising to a more consistent season. The signing of Bobby Convey has certainly brought some excitement to the club and this can hopefully be carried through to the new campaign which sees a testing start for the Royals in which they play four promotion contenders in the first month of the season.
