Reading Vs Rotherham United Match Preview

Reading are back in action at the Madejski Stadium tomorrow as Ronnie Moore's Rotherham United travel down from Yorkshire.Steve Coppell's team will be out for revenge following the humilating 5-1 loss suffered at Millmoor last season.

Reading could be without three first team players for Saturday’s visit of Ronnie Moore’s Rotherham United. Graeme Murty looks likely to miss the match because of a knock sustained on his ankle in training on Monday. His place would probably go to Ricky Newman or their could even be a first team debut for Louie Soares. Andy Hughes has a groin injury picked up in last Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Sheffield United. Hughes started last Saturday’s match on the right wing in the place of another injury doubt Glen Little, who has a hamstring strain. Should neither of them make it, then the likely replacement would be Paul Brooker. The former Brighton winger signed a two year deal with the Royals in the summer after being told he was surplus to requirements at Leicester City. Despite Lloyd Owusu and former Manchester City striker Shaun Goater scoring two goals each in the reserves 4-0 victory over Aldershot Town on Wednesday, neither appear likely to start on Saturday, with Nicky Forster and Dave Kitson have made an impressive start to the season. American winger Bobby Convey looks likely to make his first start on home soil for the Royals on the left wing. Rotherham travel down to Reading without former Royals striker Martin Butler. Butler could be out for the Millers for up to a year after being diagnosed with hepatitis A and is also suffering from glandular fever. We all wish Martin a speedy recover from everyone at 1871royals.co.uk. Defender Phil Gilchrist is a doubt after picking up a knock in training. Should he not make the match, Shaun Barker will step in. Definitely out is Andy Monkhouse and Martin McIntosh. | |||||
