Last Saturday's victory not only saw the end of the Hornets seven-game unbeaten run, but more importantly saw the Royals go top of the Coca-Cola Football League for the first time in the club's 133-year history. The Royals now face a difficult away trip to Ipswich Town.

TEAM NEWS

Once again Glenn Little will be hoping to make his return after recently recovering from injury. However, he may not travel to Ipswich, Steve Coppell preferring to give him a reserve match first.

With a fully fit squad Steve Coppell has plenty of strikers and wide men waiting in the wings. Reading have no players suspended.

The Tractor Boys have few injury problems but Joe Royle is likely to make three changes.

At left back Fabian Wilnis is suspended after being sent off at the weekend - Matt Richards should take his place. Shefki Kuqi has made his claim for a start after scoring both Ipswich's equaliser and the winner against Plymouth. Ian Westlake was rested against Plymouth and could return in place of loan player Tony Dinning.

FORM GUIDE

The Royals home form in the Championship speaks for itself, however away from home the team have suffered the three defeats of their campaign. A second away win in succession would surely boost the team's confidence on the road.

Ipswich have also made a good start to their season and made a ten-man comeback at home to Plymouth this weekend. Having been 2-0 down the Tractor Boys turned the game around winning 3-2.

Manager Joe Royle commented that the game was typical of Ipswich with the ball hitting the back of both nets.

Reading will be hoping to stay top of the Championship, but a win for Ipswich Town could see them take top spot for their manager's 1000th match as a manager.
