Adie Williams set to leave Reading

Williams's contract expires at the end of this season and has been looking for reassurances from the manager which he has been unable to give.

Coppell explained the situation by saying

"He wanted more reassurance, which unfortunately I couldn't give him at the moment, and without there being a confrontation we have mutually decided Adie's name should be circulated to other clubs"

The 33 year old is in his second spell at the club after spending a injury hit spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers in between.  How long Williams will be staying with the Royals is unknown. The former Welsh International might have played his last game since their is two weeks before the next Reading match due to the International weekend.

Reading's policy on contracts may backfire on them as fans will be hoping Williams immanent departure will not disrupt team morale. Reading are currently third in the League after losing top spot with a draw at home to Burnley on Saturday.

There is also the matter of who will be coming in as Reading already look thin in defence. Coppell has already confirmed he will not be making moves for transfer listed, Leicester City defender Martin Keown.

Darren Powell may be another choice but until Williams does find another club, he will be continuing to be picked.
