Reading Vs Leicester City Match Preview

Steve Sidwell is still suspended and Dave Kitson remains out with a long term injury (he, in fact has been receiving injections up in Leicester according to the club website).

Nicky Shorey has improved over the course of the week and despite the early doubts he could well make tomorrow's game. Royals defender Martin Keown will not make his first appearance for the club as he is cup-tied. In midfield Ricky Newman hopes to continue due to the absence of Steve Sidwell.

Glen Little, who made a mockery of the Ipswich defence last week despite seeming to be slightly hampered by a niggling injury is also available to Steve Coppell. Up front Les Ferdinand could make his second appearance for the Royals having recovered from injury - Nicky Forster has recovered from a cold. Shaun Goater, however, who has pledged his future to the Royals is out.

Leicester will have to make do without keeper Sturat Taylor as the Gunners do not want him cup-tied due to their lack of quality in between the sticks of late. The experienced Ian Walker will come in for Taylor.

Gareth Williams returns but Lees Morris is a doubt and Nathan Blake, Matt Elliot and Jason Wilcox are all out.

FORM GUIDE

Reading's in form striker at the moment would appear to be Icelandic defender Ivar Ingimarsson so Steve Coppell might push Les Ferdinand straight in to his starting line up for the FA Cup game tomorrow.

Goals have been hard to come by and Ferdinand could provide added bite to Reading's attacking play. Steve Coppell has been a busy man this week according to some newspapers - not only has he been busy signing Leicester's Martin Keown but a certain Alan Pardew has been on the phone to all his football friends including Coppell to try to improve his position at West Ham.

Leicester City haven't lost huge amounts of games this season but they haven't won many either, yet the bookies still favour Leicester as outsiders for promotion. They beat Blackpool in their last round and travel to Reading looking to kick-start the rest of their season and gain the confidence to push on up the table.
