KITSON MAKING GOOD PROGRESS

Reading striker Dave Kitson is making good progress from his knee ligament injury and could be back within a month.

Kitson stepped up his programme this week and is back on the training pitch after 6 weeks out.

Physio Jon Fearn told the official website;

"Dave has started working gradually on the training field and we'll be progressing gradually with that.

"We'll take each day as it comes but he's already doing things he couldn't do before, that's a good sign and we'll take it progressively.

"If all goes well we'll progress things every other day. At each stage we'll move it on if we can, and if there's a problem at each level we'll take a step back.

"It will feel good for Dave to be back outside rather than working in a gym, even doing simple things like running around the centre circle. He wasn't able to do that before without his knee feeling wobbly."

Kitson has been out since injuring his knee in the 1-0 victory over QPR in the middle of December.

The former Cambridge front man started the season on fire but towards the end of November was playing with a dodgy hamstring which limited his contribution in games.

Manager Steve Coppell will be eager to have Kitson back with new signing Les Ferdinand still to get off the mark with Lloyd Owusu and Dean Morgan struggling to find the net.
