Watkins looking to sign Mullins

Mullins is currently on-loan at the club until the end of the season and has admitted he would hate to see the Harries relegated back again to the Nationwide Conference. Kidderminster currently lie 6 points behind ex Reading skipper Barry Hunter's Rushden and Diamonds with 3 games left to play.

The 18 year old defender committed his future to the Royals back in February when he put pen to paper on an 18 month deal.

It is thought that the Royals would want to keep him, particularly as he seems to have jumped ahead of Peter Castle in the pecking order at the club. Another factor has been the fantastic success of the current Under 18's side who are storming the Academy league under the guidance of Eammon Dolan.

Mullins told the Harries official website;

"I'd hate to leave it like that. I really don't think we'll (Kidderminster) go down but obviously I know the time is ticking away and we got 3 massive games ahead of us."

"My cousin and my Dad come up to games and they weren't Kidderminster supporters, but they are now in the same way I am, and there's no way whatsoever I want to leave this club in the Conference.".

Harries boss Stuart Watkins has hinted he would like to sign Mullins on a permanent basis, however should that not come about then he'll always be grateful to Steve Coppell for allowing him to have Mullins at the club.

He told the Harries official website;

"We've been very impressed with his level of commitment and performance and we owe Steve Coppell and Reading a thank you for letting us take him on loan and utilise him."

"We have to see whether we can keep him, but I think there are two massive ifs."

"Firstly, a lot will depend on whether we stay in the league, and secondly it will come down to what Reading and Steve think is best for the player."
