Reading Football Club have unveiled their first two singings of the summer with Kevin Doyle and Shane Long both signing from Cork City for undisclosed fees.

DOYLE & LONG UNVEILED
Reading have unveiled their first new signings of the summer with Kevin Doyle and Shane Long arriving from Irish outfit Cork City. The pair had been in discussions with The Royals for a while and it had been feared Steve Coppell could miss out on Doyle after the striker attracted interest from numerous other clubs including Portsmouth, Burnley and Stoke City. Both players have moved to the Madejski Stadium for undisclosed fees.

Doyle played his last game for Cork last night scoring both goals in City's 2:0 win against Finn Harps extending Cork City's lead at the top of the Eircom league to four points. The striker departs Ireland top goalscorer for the club scoring seven goals and will be sorely missed as Cork go in pursuit of winning the Eircom League this season.

Shane Long who will also join The Royals has only made a small number of appearances for Cork City this season but is highly regarded as a very exciting prospect in Irish football. Long has been capped at U19 level for Ireland in the 2:0 win away in Italy. Both players have signed two years contracts at the club.

The club have also released details of a another new home and away shirt for the 05/06 season. Westcoast who have sponsored The Royals for the previous six season have decided not to extend their contract resulting in new sponsors, Kyocera.

The new shirts will be available at discounted rates of £30 for adults and £25 for children until the 7th August. The away shirt will be available first with the home shirt not set be available to purchase till as late as September.
