Morgan set for Luton switch

MORGAN SET FOR HATTERS

Dean Morgan's career at Reading Football Club looks to be over after the club gave permission to fellow Championship side Luton Town for permission to talk to the player in a view of a free transfer switch.

Morgan has failed to impress supporters during his 18 month stint in Berkshire after a free transfer switch from Phil Parkinson's Colchester United in November 2003.

It appears Mike Newell moved in for Morgan after former Town loanee Rowan Vine failing a medical ahead of a proposed move to Kenilworth Road.

The left footed striker/winger never set the world alight and was regularly used as a substitute.

Morgan has only 3 goals to his Royals career, including 1 memorable injury time strike against Cardiff City in March 2003, his first for the club. He played a total of 35 times for the club.

Morgan joins the long list of strikers to have left during the course of the summer with Bas Savage, Les Ferdinand, Nicky Forster and Lloyd Owusu all either playing they're trade at another club or to have retired from the game.
