1871Royals preview Reading's only home pre season friendly against Tottenham Hotspur this Saturday at the Madejski Stadium.

TEAM NEWS
Steve Coppell will be without defenders Nicky Shorey and Chris Makin, midfielder Brnyjar Gunnarsson and striker Dave Kitson who are all ruled out through injury. Coppell is hopeful in having Shorey, Makin and Kitson back for the visit of Plymouth on the 6th August when The Royals kick off their League campaign. Marcus Hahnemann has just returned from international duty will and start the game in goal while all of Reading's new singings bar Makin and Gunnarsson will play a part in the friendly. Martin Jol's Tottenham side are expected to complete the signing of Champions League winner and Inter Milan midfielder, Edgar Davids tomorrow. It means Davids may make his debut against The Royals on Saturday. FORM GUIDE
Reading have won all but one of their pre season games. The Royals won all three games while on tour in Sweden with Kevin Doyle and Leroy Lita both scoring hat tricks. The Royals only defeat pre season came against Farnborough Town where Reading fell to a 2:1 defeat in Leroy Lita's debut. Spurs come into the game in high spirits after winning the Peace Cup in South Korea beating Lyon in the final 3:1. Tottenham also beat Stevenage Borough 3:0 in their first pre season friendly of the summer.
