It's back!The Royals open there 2005/2006 Coca Cola Championship Season account against Plymouth Argyle at the Madejski Stadium.Reading fans can expect to see new stars such as Leroy Lita,Kevin Doyle,Stephen Hunt and more make there debut's.

Despite the Royals having not played a competitive game so far, Steve Coppell's side go into the new Championship season with major injury concerns. Dave Kitson is a major doubt after re-injuring his knee ligament injury while in Sweden. The former Cambridge front man missed 3 months of last season with the same injury. Steve Coppell is therefore expected to start with new signing's Leroy Lita and Kevin Doyle up front. Full back Nick Shorey is rated 50/50 after his troublesome knee injury still hasn't cleared up. Shorey missed the last couple of games last season with the problem and could miss out again. Should he not make it, either Stephen Hunt or Chris Makin will make there debut's for Reading. American goalie Marcus Hahnemann is expected to retain his place as the number 1 goalie as Graham Stack has a thumb injury. Should Stack not make the match, Academy youngster Ben Hamer will be on the bench. Former Watford midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson misses the game because of a thigh injury. He isn't expected to be fit for at least 2 weeks now. With the Icelandic midfielder missing, Steve Coppell is expected to start with James Harper and Steven Sidwell in central midfield. Plymouth have former Royal Lee Hodges out but have no other injury worries.Bobby Williamson has also brought some new faces in - including Nuno Mendes, a player who Jose Mourinho has said should be playing in the Premiership. Anthony Barness, Rufus Brevett and Taribo West have also joined the club whilst Peter Gilbert and Graham Coughlan have left the club.
