TEAM NEWS

Steve Coppell is expected to make changes from the side who won handsomely against Millwall on Saturday.

Graham Stack, Chris Makin, John Oster, Stephen Hunt and Brnyjar Gunnarsson could all make the starting eleven as Coppell looks to give the fringe players a chance to catch his eye and earn a starting place for the game away at Watford on Saturday.

Graham Murty and Bobby Convey have picked up knocks in recent weeks and Coppell may rest his key players to make sure they are fully fit and fresh for the trip to Vicarage Road at the weekend.

Swansea City may have to do without striker Lee Trundle who currently has a hamstring injury. The Swans have numerous withdrawals ahead of the cup clash with The Royals. Injuries to Adrian Forbes (knee) and Garry Monk (calf) and suspensions to Andy Robinson, Kristian O'Leary and Izzy Iriekpen has left manager Kenny Jacket with a depleted squad.

FORM GUIDE

Reading go into this game top of the Coca Cola Championship table after an impressive 5:0 mauling of Millwall on Saturday. Two goals from Bobby Convey followed with strikes from James Harper, Dave Kitson and Steven Sidwell sealed the win which moved Reading top at this early stage of the season on goal difference to Sheffield United. The Royals have won their last three games on the trot without conceding a goal. Reading's only defeat so far this season came on the opening day of the season against Plymouth Argyle at the Madejski Stadium.

Swansea City have adjusted well to life in League One after promotion last season. The Swans won their opening two League fixtures against Tranmere Rovers and Colchester United but have slipped up in their last two games failing to pick up a point after two defeats to Huddersfield Town and then suffering their first League defeat in their new stadium to Doncaster Rovers.
