BARADJI SIGNS ON-LOAN

Just when we thought Reading hadn't bought or loaned anyone before the closure of the transfer window, this club never lets us down after completing the loan signing of West Ham midfielder Sekou Baraji until the 3rd January 2006.

22 year old Baraji will offer much needed cover both in midfield and defence. He is also left footed.

Baraji had been with French side Le Mans and was on trial at fellow Championship side Derby County. He was offered a contract by Phil Brown. However at the 11th hour, Alan Pardew's West Ham United came in and signed the player on a 4 year contract.

However, Pardew feels the player needs experience and has loaned the player to the Royals. Another concern is that the player doesn't speak any English yet.

Director of Football Nick Hammond told the club's official website;

"Sekou is an athlete and mobile player who has trained with us for one day and looks a very good footballer.

"West Ham were keen to sign him but want him to gain some experience here, and I am appreciative to Alan Pardew that he has allowed him to join us. He will give us another option over the next few months."

The only stumbling block is the transfer needs to be rectified by the FA, Premier League and the Football League.
