Rotherham entertain pre-season favourites Plymouth Albion at Clifton Lane tomorrow, kick off is at 3pm. After losing Bernardo Stortoni and Geraint Lewis this week, Plymouth are sure to provide Rotherham with their sternest test to date and it promises to be a close, physical battle.
The Titans have made seven changes from last weeks starting 15, two of which are positional. Jason Keyter comes in at inside centre and pushes Lee Blackett onto the right wing. From there Anthony Elliott moves to full back with the departure of Bernardo Stortoni to Bristol. Jacob Rauluni returns from injury and relegates last week’s scrum half debutant Mark Sweeney to the bench.
In the forwards, Head Coach Mike Schmid comes in at number 8 for the Bath bound Geraint Lewis. At loose head Riann Olckers returns after injury and at tight head sees the surprise return of Colin Noon. His return will be most welcome as Plymouth are renowned for their forward style of play.
Rotherham have faced Plymouth four times in league history, twice in the 94-95 season in National 4 and twice when Roth were last in this division in the 02-03 season. The laner’s were victorious on all four occasions, the last being in February 2003 when Roth triumphed 55-6.
Tomorrow’s game promises to be the closes between the two sides and any sort of Rotherham victory would be seen as a marvellous result.
