Kovacs leaves Lincoln for Luton

Janos Kovacs has left Lincoln City after a year and a half, linking up with non-League Luton Town. Despite being popular with a section of fans, Kovacs' departure from Sincil Bank seemed a matter of sooner rather than later after Sutton bought in Adam Watts and saying the Kovacs was fifth in the pecking order at Sincil Bank.
Kovacs' last appearance for the Imps came in the FA Cup win at Northwich Victoria, since then the Imps have steadily improved and now find themselves more solid defensively. Although the defender was capable of decent defending, he was also highly capable of making mistakes and it was his last League game that probably made up Sutton's mind.
City had dominated a first half at Rotherham United before the Imps won a corner. It was played in and Kovacs swung his boot wildly at the ball, ending up booting it back up the field for a free Le Fondre to score.
Luton Town quickly pounced to bring in Kovacs to their promotion push.
