Shot-shy Imps lose again

After three wins a row, the Imps could now easily find themselves losing three in a row after a defeat on Tuesday night at Hereford. City never looked like scoring and barely had a shot during the entire game and in all honesty, could easily had lost this game by more.

City kicked off the game but it wasn't exactly an action packed opening few minutes with only a Paul Green cross avoiding everyone giving anything of note. It wasn't long before Nathan Baker had to go off injured though, being replaced by Moses Swaibu with just ten minutes gone. A Gilmour ball played John-Lewis through, but he collided with Hughton and the chance was wasted.

The first corner of the game came in the 25th minute but it was wasted and Hereford started to press more and they scored with pretty much their first attack of the game. Pugh played the ball into the box and Constantine headed it down for McCallum to head home. Downing hit over from 25 yards. Burch then allegedly made a save.

That was pretty much it for the first half, not exactly thrilling. Deagle.

McCallum headed wide from the kick off. A strange occurrence then came as the Imps actually pulled their finger out and had a shot, Scott Kerr hit his shot straight at the goalkeeper. Swaibu fouled Gwynne for a yellow card and Constantine rifled the free kick wide of the goal.

However, it wasn't long before Hereford established a 2 goal lead.  Facey had only just replaced Stefan "I don't sweat" Oakes just as the ball was brought forward by McCallum and he hit a powerful shot at goal, Burch couldn't quite reach it and it was 2-0 to the hosts, fun times!

Gwynne was quickly booked soon thereafter for a dangerous foul. Sutton decided to change things up even though he couldn't actually be bothered to get off his lazy arse to do it himself. Clarke came on for Watts and strangely went into the defence, was there any point in Danny Hone actually turning up?

McCallum missed an open goal just before the end but the Imps barely managed a shot in anger all game.
