Somma's goal secured new home pleasure

Although it may not seem like big news, Davide Somma's goal guarantees that for the first time since 2006/7, the Imps will win more home games in a season then they have lost. The previous two seasons have both seen considerably few wins, infact the last two seasons saw just 15 home wins compared to 17 defeats.

It's safe to say that City's fans have been starved of home comforts in recent years and other than the 2006/7 season, you've had to go back to the late 80s to find the last time that the Imps won at least half of their home games.

The 2007/8 was horrible for City fans in general and although we saw nine wins at Sincil Bank, 11 teams came to Sincil Bank and went away with a maxium of three points. Last season only saw six defeats at home....the only problem was there were only six wins, meaning eleven home draws for what was the third time in six seasons.

City's home record after 22 games is 9 wins, 6 draws and 7 defeats, meaning that only Macclesfield can stop City from getting what would be a tenth home win...also the first time that wouldn't have happened since 2006/7.
