The Players of 2009/10 : Cian Hughton
By Nathan Jackson

Cian Hughton's first season in professional football as an amazing one by most standards. Only Rob Burch spent more minutes on the pitch than Hughton and he could arguably go down as the best outfield player that Peter Jackson brought to this club.

When Hughton started out at City I was a bit sceptical, but much like Aaron Brown a year before, Hughton became a prominent member of the side. Even he couldn't have predicted how much he would play during his first season as a first teamer.
I've tried to think of the best example of his impact and the think that springs immediately to mind are his goals against Chesterfield and Barnet. Both were excellent off the ball runs that resulted in him producing two very different, but two excellent finishes.
The youngster has a bright future ahead of him and is the only outfield player who we have here permanently that you could guarantee could play at a higher level.
