Oxford back in League Two after York victory

Oxford United's four season absense from the Football League is over after they beat York 3-1. Oxford only had five realistic chances to score, scoring three and in all fairness, if York didn't shoot from distance so often then the scoreline could have been closer.

Myself and several other City fans went to the final and although we were in the York end, not many of us were fussed who went up.

The game started with York almost scoring from an horrendous goalkeeping mistake on a day where neither keeper did their reputations any favours. York wasted another chance before Oxford scored with their first effort on goal with a beautiful half volley. Constable doubled the lead a few minutes later.

York did pull a goal back through an own goal by the keeper and they had several opportunities to equalise in a second half that they enjoed the majority of the possession in. However a last minute Alfie Potter goal sealed the victory and Oxford were promoted to the Football League.
