Lincoln City's fans will face an average trek of 123.19 miles to get to away games next season. After Dagenham and Redbridge beat Rotherham at Wembley, it means that City have lost two of their local derbies during 2009/10, and will face an average of nearly three hours just simply getting to an away game.

Strangely despite keeping a local derby, the average distance to an away game is only four miles shorter than if Dagenham had won. If Rotherham had gone up then there would have been an average of 127.34 miles.

Regardless of the result at Wembley, City's closest game next season was going to be at Chesterfield's new B2Net Stadium, a total of 46.56 miles away from Sincil Bank. However, Rotherham's defeat to Dagenham means that the Imps will have two local derbies next season instead of just the one.

The Don Valley Stadium will be one of just seven games within 100 miles of Sincil Bank and is the shortest in terms of time, taking "just" 79 minutes to get from Sincil Bank to the Don Valley by car, one of only two journeys that will take under an hour.

It means that City fans will only have trips of less than 2 hours on four occasions (according to http://www.multimap.com/ and based on fastest journey), whereas eight games will take over 3 hours to reach.

All the teams coming into the division were a reasonable distance away, with Stockport being the closest with 93.51 miles separating Edgeley Park from Sincil Bank, whereas relegated Southend, Wycombe and Gillingham are all over 160 miles away. Infact, there are just as many teams over 150 miles as there are within 100.
