City start against Rotherham

Lincoln City found out that their first game of the season will be Rotherham. City have an appaling record against Rotherham in recent seasons, so will hope to improve/maintain that record with a victory. The Imps started last season reasonable well with 2 wins from the opening three games, that didn't prevent Peter Jackson from being sacked two weeks later.
Last season City started against Barnet, and despite the visitors dominating, it was the Imps who won the day with Janos Kovacs scoring just after half time. Although City lost at Accrington a week later, a midweek win at Bradford put City into 7th place......three League defeats later and Peter Jackson was sacked.
With a cup tie already secured against Leeds, the fixture list certain makes interesting reading and although we can't post the full fixture list (see here for the full list), here are our highlights
Strangely City's first and last games are identical to the ones of the 2008/9 season....both resulting in defeats the previous time around. It is a very difficult start for City given that since Rotherham came into the division in 2007, City haven't even picked up a point against them.
City also face a Boxing Day trip to Port Vale.
Opening Day (August 7th) : Rotherham (away)
First Home Game (August 14th) : Torquay United
Boxing Day (December 26th) : Port Vale (away)
Last Day : Aldershot (home)
