Imps sign Barnet's Jarrett

By Nathan Jackson
June 29 2010

Lincoln City have signed Barnet's Albert Jarrett on a one year deal. Jarrett was one of Barnet's best performers when they lost at Sincil Bank at the beginning of last season, and for the first time in a long time the Imps have a wingers-a-plenty, all of them impressed as recently as last season.

Jarrett, 25, had a fantastic game for Barnet eleven months ago when the season started and was one of the star performers in a Barnet side that topped the table about a month later. He went on to play 45 times for the Bees before Barnet barely survived the drop. It is also widely believed that the Imps are close to signing O'Flynn from Barnet as well.

The Sierra Leonean is the third winger to join in the summer and follows on from Gavin McCallum and Mustapha Carayol, although McCallum is likely to spend next season playing up front.

Jarrett has played for Arsenal, Gillingham, Wimbledon, Swindon and Stevenage in his career.

Keith loved his Centre-halves and it looks like Sutton loves his left wingers.

Some details here on his one year at Barnet and what the fans thought of him,

Seems Stimson may not have fancied him and that may be why he was released only one year into a 2 year deal, but the fans were generally positive.

Another decent player by the looks of it.
If O'Flynn is coming too then even better.
Gradually getting there I feel.

Here we go again!
Will we ever get the right man?

Another great signing IMO, I think we'll be seeing quite a few goals on the counter attack for us next season.

We must now have some of the fastest players in the league!

And WIDTH to our team - rejoice!!! A City manager that gets the need for width!

Keep it up Chris!

Apart from Broughton(Sm126)
Yeah really pleased that we have brought in theses wide players cos the lack of width was a real concern last season.
Onwards and upwards!

Not sure about this fella to be honest.

Was on loan at Boston a few years ago and released by Barnet... Would have preferred Adamoah.

Has played higher up too Norman Watford and Brighton.
Their fans say he puts plenty of decent ball into the box but not keen on tracking back.
They are quite surprsied he's left but Stimson is a terrible judge of a player.
can't remember his spell at Boston.

From what i can tell from Barnet fans:

++++ points.

Very fast
great Cross

---- points

Poor work rate
Head goes down

Atleast its another option with potential to cause damage.

It seems like Sutton is building a squad with decent competition in all positions and clearly pace is going to be a feature of our forward play, which after last season will be a welcome sight. Definitely think we need at least one more striker, and a left-back to challenge Anderson. After the debacle of England, this is starting to seriously whet my appetite for the new season.

He was very skilful on opening day last season but did tire and drift out of the match as the game wore on, in my view.

Finally, I've been saying for years we lack width, what did we have when we did well with Schoey: width! Wjat do the majority of successful sides have? Width! I cant actually remember watching a Lincoln side with width and plenty of crosses going in the box apart from first 3-4 months with Schoey and Deehan.

Slightly going off topic but I remember the season we lost 4-0 away at MK Dons in Schoeys last game, one thing I remember is plenty of pace and width and we were absolutely torn apart.

If we play the right way I dont see why we cant replicate that style.

I couldn't agrre more Jamimp, but what we are missing is someone to finish them.

I for one am starting to get very worried at our absent 'Marquee signing'.

Even though we're still 5 week away from the beginning of the season?

Yes a bit, we all know the best get snapped up quickly, unless your playing at the WC, but i don't think that applies to us.

I personally don't think we have a chance with Somma, if he becomes available, teams from Division 1 will want him... As we all know cash talks/ambition etc.

It astounds me that Crawley snap up Tubbs for 70k,who could turn out to be similar to the guy Swindon sanpped up and now being quoted for 750k.

I am worried we have spent up on O'keefe, Caryoll (Who only started 11 games last season), Jarret(released by Barnet) and McCullum, who could well be decent and Anyon...

At the moment yes I am worried.

Mr Evans is up to his old tricks by all accounts Norman ie spending what he hasn't got.
He has offered the players he signed more than league clubs that were in for them on pretty small crowds too.
If they dont go up they will go bust and even if they do what they are doing is very dangerous.
Big threadon the non-league TFF page.
I would always be worried about anything Mr. Evans is upto with a football club.
Somma wasnt at training for Leeds yesterday from what I saw on sky.
We have been promised a 'marquee' siging up front by the new chairman so he had better deliver!

Here we go again!
