Schofield out of work again

John Schofield has been relieved of his duties at Cheltenham Town. The former Lincoln manager had been assistant manager to Mark Yates, but Yates is now doing a backroom reshuffle and Schofield no longer features as part of his plans.

Schofield was a player, youth coach and assistant manager before gaining the main job in 2006. It was initially very rosey as the Imps stormed to the top of the division, but only 7 wins in the whole of 2007 before he left spelled the end. He had spent time as a coach at Scunthorpe before moving onto Cheltenham with Martin Allen.

After Martin Allen's gardening leave started, Schofield took charge of the Robins and even had a game against the Imps, but the arrival of Mark Yates spelt the end and now Schofield is looking for employment again.
